SPMAFI Outreach to Aurora A. Quezon Elementary School

Posted on July 24, 2025

The St. Paul Manila Alumni Foundation (SPMAFI) recently demonstrated the power of community collaboration through a successful educational outreach initiative. This program delivered essential school supplies to 600 Grade 1 students at Aurora A. Quezon Elementary School (AAQES) in San Andres, Malate, Manila, embodying the Paulinian commitment to nurturing young minds and supporting educational advancement in our local community.

A Community Effort Rooted in Love

The initiative began on June 25, 2025, with a spirited packing session at the Satellite Canteen. SPMAFI Board President, Atty. Pilar Nenuca Almira, together with Board members Popi Gutay, Ruby Abasolo, Aida Simborio, Emilie Simon, and Melvin Macuha, in collaboration with SPU Manila staff volunteers, came together to prepare 600 school supply kits filled with essential learning materials.

The culmination of this effort took place on July 2, 2025, when the SPMAFI delegation, accompanied by Sr. Maria Evangeline Anastacio, SPC (University President) and other SPU Manila community members, personally delivered the supplies to the eager young learners.

Warm Welcome and Grateful Hearts

The team was graciously received by AAQES Principal Mr. Agustin Baldicañas, faculty members, and the delighted Grade 1 pupils. The children’s genuine excitement and heartfelt gratitude served as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of community generosity.

Ms. Emilie Simon, SPMAFI Board representative and Outreach Program Head, led the initiative in cooperation with representatives from HS Batch 1986, Tess Manimtim (SPMAFI Treasurer), Gidget Cabreza-Espinosa, Lyca Villarica-Davila, and Dr. Cecile Sta. Ana.

Living the Paulinian Mission

This successful outreach exemplifies the Paulinian values of compassion, commitment, and community service. The collaborative effort between SPMAFI, HS Batch 86 alumnae, generous donors, and the St. Paul University Manila community demonstrates the enduring bond that unites the Paulinian family in service to others.

As we celebrate this achievement, we are reminded that every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to make a significant difference in a child’s educational journey.
