Goodbyes and Hellos…
Oliver Rodriguez, Trustee for the College of Music and the Performing Arts (CMPA) and Vice President-Internal, has resigned from the Board due to work pressure and health concerns.
Taking Oliver’s place as Trustee for the CMPA is Josefina Bautista-Antonio.
Josie currently works as a full-time faculty member in the undergraduate and graduate levels of St. Paul University Manila College of Music and the Performing Arts. She served as the Program Chairperson from 2010 to 2021. She also serves as an organist-conductor in her parish in Bocaue, Bulacan. She has worked as a piano and organ instructor in the Yamaha School of Music and the San Jose Seminary of Ateneo de Manila. At present, she is finishing her dissertation for a Doctor of Philosophy in Music degree in the University of the Philippines, Diliman. She graduated from St. Paul University Manila with degrees in Bachelor of Music in Music Education; Master of Music, 2008; and Master of Arts, major in Curriculum Design, Development and Supervision, 2018. Aside from doing her duties in the school and in the Church, she also enjoys being a wife to her husband, and a mom to her only son.
The Trustee for the College of Arts and Sciences is Popi Gutay.
Popi studied in St. Paul College of Manila, from kindergarten to college. She took up AB Communication Arts, batch 1977. Right after school, she joined the advertising industry, where she stayed for 37 years, rising from the ranks to become Executive Vice President of Basic Advertising Agency, one of the leading advertising agencies in the country. Her field of specialty is account management/marketing. To further hone her skills in marketing and management, Basic Advertising sent her to take up Advanced Marketing Management Course in the Asian Institute of Management. She is currently very much retired and enjoying her role as a doting grandmother.
Popi was recently inducted as CAS Trustee and VP-Internal by Ricki Arches, SPMAFI President.
Most recently, Sr. Nicole Marie Dabalus, Assistant Moderator of SPMAFI, begged off from her position due to very heavy workload—two VP Offices, Dean of SPIRE, Head of PRISM, Head of Religious Education, and Dormitory in-Charge.
