St. Paul Manila at 110: Goodness Overflowing

Posted on November 13, 2022

St. Paul Manila is celebrating its 110th Foundation Anniversary this year, 2022.  The school was started in 1912 as St. Paul’s Institution, with a kindergarten class for children of the neighborhood, at the request of their parents that the Sisters teach their youngsters the Four Rs’—reading, (w)riting, (w)rithmetic and religion.  The school has come a long way in 110 years, and the journey is documented in a coffee table book, ST. PAUL MANILA AT 110: GOODNESS OVERFLOWING.

The book briefly traces the beginnings of the school, the pre-war years, the war, and rebuilding after it.  It features 110 (actually more) essays on Paulinian icons—Sisters and lay, testimonials by alumni on how Paulinian education has impacted their personal and professional lives, and recollections of their fondest memories of the school and its people.  It is a work of love, which every Paulinian will be happy and proud to own and share with her progeny.

In addition to its significance, the book has been earmarked by St. Paul University Manila to  support the training programs which will be funded by proceeds from its sales:

  1. Certificate Program for the Teaching of Values Education and GMRC in Basic Education
  2. The Paulinian Leader Program

Sr. Evangeline Anastacio, SPC, St. Paul University Manila President, has written the following to the alumni:
